About Us

At EnGedi-Life we try to move outside preconceived ideas of what it means to be a follower of the Christ, as well as what it means to be a church.

Our outside the box vision of God's kingdom is one where we recognize that our expression of faith, our mission, our gifts and strengths, do not separate us but instead integrate us with other faith communities. We see ourselves in unity, not in competition with other Christian groups. We even avoid concepts such as "joining" or "membership", valuing instead one's following of the Christ and not an organization.

EnGedi-Life encourages people to experience other faith communities as well as participating in our community. This may, as an example, mean worshiping at another church while attending a study or other gathering at EnGedi-Life. There are no expectations that to participate in any area of EnGedi-Life excludes someone from participating with, or experiencing, other churches.

Likewise, our outside the box idea is reflected in the use of our resources. EnGedi-Life does not have paid staff or church buildings. This allows us to use our finances and time to provide for the healing, nurturing, and growth of other people and other faith communities. To this end, EnGedi-Life intentionally focuses on four areas - fellowship, teaching, care, and partnerships - which are explained in other areas of our website.

We see every Christ centered community as part of a greater whole called the Kingdom of God. We may have different identifies, different missions or purposes, and different ideas, but what unites is far more important than what distinguishes us. Namely that in his life, death, and resurrection, Jesus gives shape to a new reality that points people in a direction radically different from the chaotic, disjointed, and dysfunctional path many people experience in today's world. This new reality is the joy of relationship healed and enhanced; the joy of belonging to and finding out what God longs to give us.
